Sproutsy — Privacy Policy
Effective date: 21 March 2026
Introduction
Oemi Labs Limited, a New Zealand limited company (“we,” “us,” or “our”), develops and publishes Sproutsy, a baby growth and feeding tracking application available on the Apple App Store.
This Privacy Policy explains how Sproutsy collects, uses, stores, and protects your information. Children’s data is sensitive. We handle it carefully.
For the general Oemi Labs website privacy policy, please visit oemilabs.com/privacy-policy.
Information We Collect
Child Profiles
You may enter information about your child, including their name, date of birth, gender, and optionally a photo. For premature babies, you may also provide an estimated due date to calculate corrected gestational age.
Health & Growth Data
Sproutsy collects the following health-related data, entered by you:
- Growth measurements — weight and height recordings over time, compared against WHO Child Growth Standards.
- Feeding logs — breastfeeding sessions (duration and side), bottle feeds (volume), and pumping sessions (volume and duration).
- Solid food records — foods introduced, amounts, food groups, and your child’s reaction, including any allergy information.
- Milestone tracking — developmental milestones and their dates of achievement.
Subscription & Trial Data
We track your subscription status (free, trial, or premium) and the number of trial entry days used. Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store your payment card details.
Information We Do Not Collect
Sproutsy does not collect:
- Location data
- Financial or payment card information
- Browsing or search history
- Contacts or address book data
- Advertising or cross-app tracking identifiers
- Analytics or telemetry data
How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide to:
- Display and chart your child’s growth over time
- Track feeding patterns and solid food introduction
- Record and visualise developmental milestones
- Sync data across your devices via iCloud (if enabled)
- Manage your subscription and trial status
- Operate and improve the app
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, behavioural analysis, or any purpose unrelated to the core functionality of the app.
Data Storage & Security
Local-First Architecture
Sproutsy uses a local-first architecture. Your data is stored primarily on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework. This means your data remains on your device even without an internet connection.
iCloud Sync (Optional)
If you enable iCloud sync, your data is synced across your Apple devices via Apple’s CloudKit service. iCloud data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple. We do not operate our own servers for data storage.
For details on how Apple handles iCloud data, see Apple’s iCloud security overview.
Security Measures
Your data benefits from device-level protection (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID), Apple’s encryption for iCloud data, and the security of Apple’s platform. We do not transmit your health data to any servers we operate or control.
Third-Party Services
Sproutsy integrates with the following third-party services:
- Apple iCloud / CloudKit — for optional cross-device data sync. Subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy.
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with any other third parties, except as required by law.
Data Export & Portability
You can export your data at any time using the app’s built-in export features:
- CSV export — growth, feeding, and food data in spreadsheet format
- PDF export — formatted reports with charts
- ZIP export — complete data archive including all entries
Data export is available to all users (free and premium) at no additional cost.
Data Retention & Deletion
Your data is stored on your device and, if enabled, in your iCloud account. You can delete individual entries, child profiles, or all data directly within the app at any time.
To request complete deletion of any data we may hold, contact us at [email protected]. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
Children’s Privacy
Sproutsy is designed for parents, guardians, and caregivers to track their child’s growth and development. The app stores information about children (such as name, date of birth, and health measurements), but this data is provided and managed entirely by the parent or caregiver — not by the child.
Sproutsy does not create accounts for children and is not intended to be used directly by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you believe a child under 13 has created an account or provided personal information without parental consent, please contact us at [email protected] and we will take steps to delete the data promptly.
Tracking & Advertising
Sproutsy does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies. We do not use Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework because we do not track users. We do not use advertising identifiers, share data with advertising networks, or sell data to data brokers.
